About the Role
We are particularly looking for tutors with a strong command of the IGCSE and International Baccalaureate (IB) Science curricula. As a Secondary Science Tutor with GetYourTutors, you will:
Provide expert, individualized and small-group tutoring in Physics, Chemistry, and/or Biology for secondary school students.
Develop engaging and effective lesson plans tailored to each student’s learning style and academic goals.
Guide students through the intricacies of the IGCSE Science syllabi (e.g., Coordinated Science, Combined Science, or separate Physics, Chemistry, Biology).
Prepare students comprehensively for IB Diploma Programme Science courses (e.g., IB Physics, IB Chemistry, IB Biology – SL & HL).
Focus on fostering conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, and practical application of scientific principles.
Conduct exam preparation, focusing on past papers, mark schemes, and effective study strategies for IGCSE and IB exams.
Monitor student progress, provide detailed feedback, and maintain open communication with parents.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Science Education, or a related field.
Demonstrable experience teaching and tutoring Secondary Science, with specialized expertise in the IGCSE and IB curricula.
In-depth knowledge of IGCSE exam requirements and the IB DP Science group subjects and assessment criteria.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of motivating and building rapport with students.
A genuine passion for teaching science and inspiring curiosity in young minds.
Strong organizational skills and a professional, reliable approach.
Prior tutoring or teaching experience within Dubai or the UAE is advantageous.
